TaskJunction provides free mechanical engineering calculators, formula references, and study resources for education, learning, and preliminary design review. The information on this site is provided in good faith, but we make no representation or warranty of any kind regarding its accuracy, completeness, suitability, or availability.

Calculator Results and Assumptions
2.1 Simplified Models
Our calculators use standard textbook formulas and common engineering assumptions. Real parts behave differently depending on material lot variation, surface finish, temperature, load direction, support conditions, manufacturing tolerances, and factors not modeled in a quick online tool.
2.2 Verify Before You Build
Always cross-check TaskJunction results using:
- Manufacturer catalogs and datasheets
- Company internal standards and checklists
- Detailed hand calculations or certified engineering software
- Physical testing, prototyping, or inspection where safety or compliance requires it
- Review by a qualified engineer for production or safety-critical applications
2.3 Local Browser Processing
Calculator inputs are processed in your browser. We do not review your specific values or approve your design. The fact that a number appears on screen does not mean it is correct for your application.
Standards, Codes, and References
References to ISO, ASME, ANSI, DIN, GATE syllabi, and similar standards on TaskJunction are for educational context. We do not claim official endorsement, certification, or affiliation with any standards body, exam authority, or software vendor.
Standards change. Exam syllabi update. Always confirm you are using the current revision relevant to your project, employer, or examination before relying on any calculator on this site.
TaskJunction is not affiliated with IIT, GATE organizing bodies, any university, or any commercial CAD, CAM, FEA, or PLM software provider.
