Meet the Founder
Vaibhav Dhokpande
Vaibhav Dhokpande
Mechanical Engineer, Developer & Creator · TaskJunction

Hi, I'm Vaibhav Dhokpande, a Mechanical Design Engineer from Pune with over 8 years of experience in fixture design, sheet metal, and tooling for MNC companies.

I'm not a professional developer. I'm an engineer who codes on the side, and that's exactly why I built this.

Here's the real reason TaskJunction exists:

During my daily work, I constantly needed quick calculators, pneumatic cylinder forces, gear ratios, GD&T true position, sheet metal bend allowances. Every time I searched online, I either landed on a cluttered website full of ads, or a tool that asked me to sign up before I could use it. Some didn't even work on mobile. It was frustrating.

So one day in February 2026, I just started building. One calculator. Then another. Then I couldn't stop.

I wanted a single place, clean, fast, no login, no nonsense, where engineers and students could open a tool and just use it. No account. No subscription. No data collection. Just tools that work.

That's TaskJunction.

What started as a few basic calculators has grown into 55+ free tools focused on mechanical design — pneumatics, drives, sheet metal, GD&T, heat transfer, safety factors, plus a formula sheet and handy utilities. Every tool is built from real engineering needs, not guesswork. I personally use most of them in my own work.

I build this in my spare time, after work hours, because I genuinely believe that good tools should be free and accessible to everyone, whether you're a student preparing for GATE or a working engineer on the production floor.

If a tool has helped you even once, that's enough for me.

Opportunities

After 10th standard, you have two main routes to become a Mechanical Engineer. Choose your path:

📘
12th Science Path

Go through 12th with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths), then crack JEE or State CET to get into B.Tech Mechanical Engineering.

  • ✅ 10th → 12th PCM → JEE/CET → B.Tech (4 yr)
  • ✅ IIT/NIT opportunity via JEE Advanced
  • ✅ PSU jobs via GATE after graduation
📋
Diploma Path

Do a 3-year Polytechnic Diploma after 10th, then enter directly into 2nd year B.Tech via Lateral Entry.

  • ✅ 10th → Diploma (3 yr) → Job or Lateral Entry
  • ✅ Govt. JE exams possible after Diploma
  • ✅ Earn earlier, practical skills from day 1

💡 Vaibhav's Advice (from 8 years in the field): If you scored well in 10th and love studying, go for the 12th → JEE route — better brand name opens doors faster. But if you want practical skills and a real engineering career without JEE pressure, the Diploma path is absolutely legitimate and respected. Both paths produce excellent engineers. What matters most is your skill, not just your degree.
