Free Rankine cycle efficiency calculator with built-in steam properties. Calculate thermal efficiency, net work output, back work ratio and heat input for steam power cycles.
In my thermal engineering classes and later in plant-related projects, I always needed to quickly check Rankine cycle efficiency without pulling out steam tables and doing the full calculation by hand. The online calculators I found either asked for enthalpy values directly (which you still had to look up) or gave no explanation of what was happening inside.
So I built this one with approximate built-in steam property correlations. You put in temperature, pressures and isentropic efficiencies and it gives you efficiency, work outputs and back work ratio right away. It is not meant to replace full IAPWS-97 software for detailed plant design, but for quick estimates, GATE prep and classroom checks, it does the job.
